Dr. Uchida's Lecture on "A Sense of Well-being" Published in the Iwate Nippo Newspaper
Dr. Yukiko Uchida gave a lecture entitled “Building an environment that fosters well-being from the perspective of happiness research” on November 16, 2017 in Takizawa City, Iwate.
Takizawa City has drawn up an initial comprehensive plan called “Building an environment that fosters well-being”. In collaboration with Dr. Uchida, they will begin the research project by conducting surveys of the people of the city. The lecture event and their collaborative research was published on city’s website and the 11/26/17 Iwate Nippo.

In collaboration with Dr. Uchida from Kyoto University’s KRC, Takizawa City has launched a research project on well-being. The city has introduced indicators of happiness and target values to promote a resident-centered community building. Before reaching the mid-term of the plan, the project required revitalization. Using questionnaires created by experts, happiness will be investigated academically and the research results will be used to support the community building.
