Professor Yoshinori Hiroi acted as a panelist at the international conference for the 10th anniversary of the Fondation France-Japon de l’EHESS (Paris, June 4th, 2019).

On June 4th, 2019, in Paris, Professor Yoshinori Hiroi reported acted as a panelist at the international conference for the 10th anniversary of the Fondation France-Japon de l’EHESS (L’École des hautes études en sciences sociales).

 

The Fondation France-Japon de l’EHESS was established in 2009 to promote intellectual exchange between Japan and France. The EHESS, in which the foundation is based, is one of the most respected and internationally-recognized social science research institutions in France.

 

This conference theme was “Growth, Innovation and Equality: What the World can learn from Japan,” and comprised three roundtable sessions featuring a total of 18 researchers (13 from France and 5 from Japan). The roundtables were “Growth: a secular stagnation?”, “Innovation beyond technology” and “What inequality? What answers? Redistribution or inclusive growth”. Professor Hiroi presented a report entitled “From Growth to Sustainability: Japanese Experience” in the first roundtable, (“Growth: a secular stagnation?”).
