Interview with Professor Toshio Kawai “Kokoro Spreading Outside the Body” Was Published in the New Book ‘The Forefront of Life Science: Tackling the Mysteries of Being Alive’

An interview with Prof. Toshio Kawai titled “Kokoro Spreading Outside the Body” was published in the new book ‘The Forefront of Life Science: Tackling the Mysteries of Being Alive’ (Japanese version only).

This book is composed of interviews with 10 researchers in various fields on the theme of “life.” From the perspective of “kokoro research” in clinical psychology, Prof. Kawai introduces the relationship between changing times and societal and mental problems, the increase in “developmental disabilities”, and the growing demand for outreach by psychotherapists. The interview also mentions the importance of data science-oriented research into psychotherapy in addition to clinical practice. It also mentions the significance of objective measures that can be used to demonstrate the effectiveness of psychotherapy and the experiential knowledge of psychotherapists widely across disciplines.
