A character designed by Asano Kohei (Program-Specific Research Fellow) has been selected as the mascot for the Japan Neuroscience Society.

The Japan Neuroscience Society (JNS) is the largest academic society in Japan that promotes basic, clinical and applied research on the brain and the nervous system.

Last autumn, a public competition was held to create a mascot for the JNS and the results have been announced (https://www.jnss.org/190819-01/).

A submission by Asano Kohei (a Program-Specific Research Fellow at KRC) was selected as the winner. A statement from the JNS said, “The mascot will be used in outreach activities by the JNS, printed materials related to the JNS, the society’s websites, and JNS’s annual meetings.
