Prof. Yoshioka Lectured at a University of London Symposium and Michigan University in September 2017
On 18th September 2017, Professor Hiroshi Yoshioka presented a lecture entitled “On the Nature of the Artificial” at the International Symposium “Future Mind: Art & Technology in the Future.” The Symposium was co-organized by Kyoto University’s Kokoro Research Center; the Department of Computing, Goldsmiths, University of London; and Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability.

In September 2017, he gave a lecture entitled “Hiroshima, Fukushima & Beyond: Borders and Transgressions in Nuclear Imagination”, and a lecture for students studying Japanese aesthetics as part of Art and Design in Context at Michigan University. Prof. Yoshioka discussed nuclear imaginings in modern art and pop culture products, such as manga and anime. In total, more than 200 people were in attendance.
