Prof. Hiroi Gives the Keynote Lecture at the International Conference on Social Security in Dalian, China

Prof. Yoshinori Hiroi gave the keynote lecture at the 14th International Conference on Social Security, which was held in Dalian, China on September 15th and 16th.
This conference was jointly hosted by the Japanese Association for Social Policy Studies (Japan-East Asia Division), Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, The Chinese Association of Social Security and The Korean Association of Social Policy. Its goals are to analyze issues concerning social security in East Asian countries from a broad perspective for researchers from Japan, China, and Korea to propose policies.
The general theme for the 14th conference was “Social security and governance”. On the first day, Prof. Hiroi presented a keynote lecture, entitled “Sustainable welfare society and governance”.
The discussion encompassed a wide range of topics, from institutional support for the aging to the expanding economic disparity faced by East Asia and other industrialized countries, to the impact of the digital economy on employment, the economy and social security. Researchers from Europe and the United States also participated in the discussion.
