Prof. Kawai Presents a Lecture at the Joint IAAP /Vilnius University/ LAAP Conference in Lithuania

Prof. Toshio Kawai gave a lecture at the Joint IAAP /Vilnius University/ LAAP Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania. This conference is the first of International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP)’s joint conferences with universities to promote exchange with the world of academics.
Its theme is “Research in Psychotherapy and Culture: Exploring Narratives of Identity”.
Five hundred people were in attendance among which a research on Siberian shamans and a research of trauma concerning Partisan during WWII in Lithuania stood out as interesting research. Prof. Kawai’s lecture entitled “The Prevalence of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and its Cultural and Contemporary Meaning: Psychotherapeutic Research”. The lecture included a report on the research finding of play therapy for children with developmental disabilities at Kokoro Research Center, and discussion on a cultural and modern significance of an increase in developmental disabilities.
