Volume 1 of Hiraku (A&F Corporation), a new magazine supervised by Keishi Saeki (Specially Appointed Professor), with articles by Professor Yukiko Uchida and Tomonori Shimomura (Research Fellow), has been published
With the start of the Reiwa era, a new magazine, Hiraku, has been launched. However, the term “magazine” would be a bit misleading for this publication. Although it will be released twice a year, this publication is not classified as a periodical, but as a book that will be published in the spring (May) and autumn (November).
Hiraku is directed by Prof. Keishi Saeki (Professor Emeritus, Kyoto University; Specially Appointed Professor at KRC). Although he has written about the crisis of modern civilization over many years, this is the first time for him to assume the role of editor in chief. For this publication, he arranged interviews with people from various fields and recruited writers from different areas.
Volume 1 features an article by Prof. Saeki and his interviews with intellectual figures in Japan, as well as an article by Prof. Uchida and a book review by Mr. Shimomura.
