Bhutan’s Gross National Happiness (GNH) policies have drawn attention from the UN and other countries for the way it balances of material prosperity and the happiness of its people, which is a new paradigm for post rapid-economic-growth societies.  In Japan, nearly one hundred local governments that have formed “The Happiness League”, which has implemented policies following the GNH model.  The level of interest in Bhutan and its GNH is high among the Japanese government, local governments and the general public.  In response to this interest, the project will provide “Lectures on Bhutanese Culture” for the citizens to learn from experts about Bhutan and its culture and society.
