The purpose of this study is to clarify the cognitive basis of human decision making using multiple complementary methods such as behavioral experiments, neuroscientific evaluation, and big data analysis. When studying human decision making, there are many cases in which the essential elements of human sociality and morality are impaired due to constraints within the experiment.
In this study, we approach human decision-making mechanisms in more realistic situations by devising a paradigm. Specifically, we focus on processes such as risk taking, and aim to clarify factors that can explain differences in decision making between individuals or fluctuations in decision making within individuals.
