Researcher Seimin Kimura appeared on the BS digital broadcasting ‘Shochiku Tokyu’ program entitled “Extra! Hitting the Scoop on Japanese History,” to talk about the Sangyo Gisho (commentaries on three sutras), written by Prince Shotoku in the 7th century. The program uses the textual database of the Daizo-kyo (complete Buddhist canon) to reveal that there are commonalities among the Sangyo Gisho (commentaries on three sutras: “Hokke-kyo Gisho” (commentary on the Lotus Sutra), “Shoman-gyo Gisho” (on the Shri-mala Sutra) and “Yuima-gyo Gisho” (on the Vimalakirti Sutra).
