Yoshiro Imaeda |  Tibetan History and Literature


Dr. Imaeda was born in Aichi Prefecture in 1947.  He graduated from Otani University’s Faculty of Letters.  He served as the director of research at the National Center for Scientific Research in France from 1991 until his retirement in 2012.  Between 1981 and 1990, he worked as an adviser to the National Library of Bhutan. In 1995, he was a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley. His area of expertise is Tibetan history and literature.  Some of his books and papers have been translated to English such as Enchanted by Bhutan (KMT Publishers, 2008)、and The Successors of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel: Hereditary Heirs and Reincarnations Riyang Books, 2013 under press
