This project concerns the tasks surrounding medical health welfare in the super-aging society of Japan. The project will involve 1) research on the background of tasks, 2) needs assessment, 3) trial intervention approaches and 4) proposals for effective interventions. This action research has four pillars: 1) “mutual regeneration” in the local community, 2) “dementia”- which is on the rise in Japan’s super-aging-society and raising social awareness of it and 3) advancement of medical technology, and thus the need to re-think how to live more fully.
Based on these three pillars, the end of life projects focus on 1) developing mutual-help, self-help and enhancement programs, 2) researching how to raise awareness of dementia treatment and care and 3) ‘final preparation for life’ salons.
