Prof. Yoshinori Hiroi Participated in the Economics of Happiness World Forum in Tokyo on November 11, 2017 at the Japan Education Center.

Helena Norberg-Hodge, author of Ancient Futures: Learning from Ladakh, has been leading the World forums internationally since 2009.
Global opinion leaders in localization and the local movement in various parts of Japan gathered at the conference. The forum was organized by the Sloth Club, which was founded by cultural anthropologist Prof. Shinichi Tsuji (Meiji Gakuin University), author of Slow Is Beautiful.
Prof. Hiroi presented a report entitled “Turning population decline into a hopeful future: Going local after going global”. He also participated in a panel discussion with Prof. Ryo Yamazaki (Tohoku University of Art and Design), Mr. Tsuyoshi Yoshiwara (The Johnan Shinkin Bank) and Ms. Rieko Nonoyama (Pal System Tokyo).
